Wallowing Wednesday!

Block B: Poetry Stations are done! There will be some time tomorrow to share more poetry if you feel so inclined. There is no homework tonight!

Block C: 11s - Memory Books are done and handed in! 12s - You are welcome to come on Friday for some more Provincial Exam Prep. Your exam is Wednesday June 27 at 9:00. Be here by 8:45 or else I will be phoning you personally!!!

Block B: I hope you had fun with poetry stations today! We will continue tomorrow to the stations you didn't get to - no homework tonight!

Block C: 11s - tomorrow is the LAST day to get in any missed work or assignments. Your Memory Book is due by the end of the day tomorrow! 12s - We will be using the laptops for an online practice exam tomorrow so that you will be able to see what it looks like!

Block B: I hope you enjoyed your text-to-text connections lesson! If you didn't finish your 2 C.S.I's. 1 for the poem and 1 for the song, please do so for homework tonight!

Block C: 11s - you're almost done! Get your projects finished for the end of block Wednesday. 12s - we're on to essays tomorrow! Get your business letter/visual design assignments in ASAP.

Block B: Thanks for the super fun class today! Please complete the text-to-text connections part of the handout today. We'll discuss both the lyrics and your responses on Monday!

Block C: 11s - Memory Books are almost due - make sure you are on track to hand it in on Wednesday! 12s - I will collect your assignment on Monday - make sure you are following the guidelines for what a proper business letter and visual design should look like!

Thrifty Thursday!

Block B: We'll continue the work we started at the end of class tomorrow. The good copy of your Hero poem is due tomorrow - make sure it is in good copy. That means typed or in pen - no need for fancy decorations! Make sure you hand in the rough draft and the pink planning sheet.

Block C: 11s - Memory Book continued. 12s - there will be an assignment tomorrow to demonstrate everything you've learned about making super awesome visual designs!

Wherefore Wednesday?

Block B: Keep plugging away at the rough draft of your Hero poem. We'll work on revision tomorrow. Study all of the terminology related to poetry for the quiz tomorrow!

Block C: 11s - Memory Book cont. 12s - We'll have another day of practice for visual designs and then an assignment on Friday!

Talking Tuesday!

Block B: If you didn't get a chance to finish your pink planning sheet for "Heroes Are All Around Us" poetry assignment - please do so tonight. Please keep studying for the CLS #6 Attempt #2 tomorrow and the poetry/figurative devices quiz on Thursday!

Block C: 11s - keep working on your memory book project! 12s - if you didn't finish your assignment today on complaint and cover letters, please do so tonight!

Make it your Monday!

Block B: Today I gave you a little more time to finish off your group work from Friday. You then completed the individual response to the poem on the boxes handout. We then started talking about Heroes All Around Us - did some brainstorming on the topic and got inspired to write. If you did not have a chance to finish your personal response to one of the 4 poems - please do so tonight. Keep studying your grammar and poetic and figurative devices as we've got a couple of quizzes coming up. CLS 6 Attempt #2 is Wednesday, and CLS #4 - a quiz on poetry will be Thursday June 14th.

Block C: 11s - keep working on your Memory Book Project. 12s - there will be an assignment tomorrow on Business Letters so make sure you're on track with all of the aspects of writing a formal business letter.

Block B: I overheard some really great discussions today! Thank you for being super supportive and awesome group members.

Block C: We're hitting our stride with end of year stuff. 11s - keep pugging away at your Memory Book and 12s - it's the best of the business letters still to come!

Block B: If you did not complete your limerick or haiku in class today - please do so tonight!

Block C: The 12s will continue working on business letters and the 11s will continue with their memory books.

Tracking Tuesday!

Block B: Great start to poetry today! Keep your handout of notes and terms as you'll need to know them for this unit. I did not assign the song lyrics handout for homework. You will get some time in class tomorrow to complete it.

Block C: Today we finished off the rest of the presentations - thank you all for your hard work and patience!

Marvellous Monday!

Block B: Bravo actors! Congratulations on a job well done today actors! I'm so proud of all of you! Thank you for handing in your novels, peer assessments, and project scripts today. If you are missing any of those components could you please get those in as soon as you can?

Block C: Wow. Ms. Henrickson and I are SO PROUD of you and all that you accomplished with your Ultimate Top 5 projects! The ones that we viewed today were fantastic. We're excited to finish them all off tomorrow!

Fun-times Friday!

Block B: I hope that you all enjoyed the music concert today! It was certainly an impressive show! Speaking of shows... You are going to be performing your Outsiders role plays on Monday. Make sure you are ready to go when the bell rings!
