Thoughtful Thursday!

Block B: Today was your LAST work block before the presentations on Monday. Tomorrow we are going to go to the Year End Music Assembly put on by our wonderful school band and choir. Please come to class first for attendance, we will go down to the gym together.

Block C: You have 1 more block to complete your project in class tomorrow. Just a reminder that we will be showing our projects - in whatever state of "readiness" they are in Monday!

Talk about Tuesday!

Block B: Today you started working on your Outsiders role plays. You will have 2 more work blocks (Wednesday and Thursday) before we present on Monday. Tomorrow you should try to work on your script so that you are ready to start practicing on Thursday.

Block C: I hope you found the project check in helpful - so that you can see exactly what is required of you for the project. Keep up the good work - we will show our projects - in whatever state of "readiness" they are in on Monday!

Block B: Phew! Most of you were able to complete the grammar test and the good copy of your character analysis in class today - nice work! There is no homework tonight!

Block C: We will have a mini project check-in to start class tomorrow. We're curious about how much you've done and what still needs to get done for our Monday showcase. Make sure you're asking questions if you're stuck!

Fun-Times Friday!

Block B: Many people were struggling to get their good copies done in class today. I will give you some time on Monday to finish up - 25 mins or so. Come prepared to silent read if necessary. We will still have our grammar test on Monday - so make sure you study! Have a great weekend!

Thoughts on Thursday

Block B: You will have a full block tomorrow to complete the draft and good copy of your formal character analysis paragraph. If you need extra time we can arrange tomorrow.

Block C: It is full steam ahead on our Top 5 project! Topics are chosen, criteria and items are being ranked and judged against the criteria. Keep researching images and we'll start putting together projects tomorrow!

Wondering about Wednesday?

Block B: There is no homework tonight! There will be a public health nurse in class tomorrow to conduct a survey with you. You will have a full class of writing on Friday to complete your character analysis.

Block C: There are a lot of great ideas out there for your Ultimate Top 5 projects! We will be working on these for the next week or so. Manage your time and ask for help when you need it. The finished project is due at the end of class June 1st. We will present our finished projects on Monday June 4th!

Tasks for Tuesday!

Block B: If you didn't finish your book vs movie comparison - please do so for homework tonight. We will continue working on your formal character analysis in class tomorrow! Think about which character you think you have a lot to interpret about their character, but this is an in-class assignment - so don't work ahead and do any planning outside of class time.

Block C: Good work today on the discussion of criteria and the Top 10 books! If you are missing work - please make sure you get it in as soon as you can!

Block B: We did it! We made it through the novel! Your homework tonight is to complete the whole novel CSI and hand it in tomorrow. We'll work on the plot diagram, yellow character chart, and conflict sheet together in class.

Block C: The novel project is due at the end of class on Thursday - make sure you are on track! Manage your time and set goals for yourself!

Make this Your Monday!

Block B: Homework tonight is to finish off your responses to chapters 10 and 11 of the novel - we'll discuss tomorrow. Just a reminder that the text-codes (chapters 1-12), character chart (yellow), and the conflicts sheet (purple) are all due on Thursday. You will have time to work on them this week - but make sure you are on track to get them done!

Block C: Work continues on our final project - all instructions are clearly organized in the assignment sheet - you choose how much you are going to do, depending on the grade you want to get. The good copy of your project is due at the end of class on Thursday May 17th. Keep up the good work!

Block B: Today in class you tackled the making connections assignment and most of you handed it in. If you needed a little extra time for it - you can hand it in on Monday. Homework for the weekend, is to keep feeling the feels and read and text-code chapters 10&11.

Block C: Work continues with the project on Monday. Today you were to complete the C Level work for the first 2 sections; quotes and character. You are more than welcome to keep working ahead - this project is only going to be as good as what you choose to make of it!

Block C: We ended with a good discussion on theme statements today and we'll tackle chapters 23&24 tomorrow.
