Fun-Filled Friday!

Block A: Homework for the long weekend is to finish your novel and your last set of sticky notes. Make sure you are ready to discuss with your group on Tuesday!

Block B: Presentations will start first thing on Tuesday! Make sure you and your group are fully ready and prepared. That each person knows what they are responsible for completing and that all parts are present and accounted for.

Block D: You should have already made your choice as far as your silent reading novel - I will complete the sign up process on Tuesday. Remember this is the book you are going to share during our book talk day! Great work on foreshadowing and the parts of the plot diagram today - no homework this weekend!

Thoughtfully Thursday:

Block A: Discussion with our groups will continue tomorrow!

Block B: One more class to prepare your group presentations! I will not be interested in hearing excuses on Tuesday why you and your group cannot present - double and triple check all of your technology!!!

Block D: Good work on foreshadowing today - no homework tonight!

Walk Away Wednesday:

Block A: Hopefully you left class today brimming with ideas for your Verbal/Visual Essay. Keep it turning in the back of your mind! For tomorrow, be prepared to discuss the archetypes and other universal symbols in your novel as well as your current section of the book.

Block B: Work continues on the group projects - make sure you are on track to present on Tuesday!

Block D: If you did not finish both sides of the Making Inferences chart for the story "They're Made out of Meat" in class today - please complete it for homework tonight!

Temper your Tuesday!

Block A: Thank you for handing in your summary of group discussions today. I will be assigning the Verbal Visual Essay tomorrow in class. Make sure you are keeping up with your reading for our next group meeting on Thursday.

Block B: Group projects continue all week. Make sure you are keeping up with your group and completing your part!

Block D: Awesome work today on TWO different reading skills: making inferences and making predictions. You all worked so hard today - you have no homework tonight :)

Merrily on Monday!

Block A: Extra time tomorrow for groups to finish their work from today!

Block B: The double-spaced good copy of your "Saturday Climbing" paragraph is due tomorrow. Make sure you have all components to hand in. If you didn't finish reading your assigned short story for the project today - make sure it is done for tomorrow, so that you can start to work on it tomorrow in class.

Block D: Great work on making inferences today! No homework tonight!

Fabulous Friday!

Block A: Thank you for all of the journals today! Your next group meeting will take place on Monday - so make sure your reading and sticky notes are done.

Block B: A highly focused writing block today - great job. The double-spaced rough draft is due on Monday for peer editing.

Block D: Thank you for your awesome behaviour during our fire drill today - you all followed my instructions to a T! We successfully wrote our first quiz on nouns! Your homework for the weekend is to take the feedback from your editor and make the BEST good copy you can for your expository paragraph. Make sure it is double-spaced in pen or typed. You will need to hand in the graphic organizer and the rough draft with peer editing on Monday - so make sure you have them in class.

Thoughts on this Thursday:

Block A: 2nd group meeting today - don't worry if your group didn't finish - I will give you time in class tomorrow to finish up. Your 3-4 double-entry journals are due tomorrow. Make sure you follow the format on the handout. They must be in pen or typed.

Block B: Phew! I can't believe I managed to conference with every single one of you today! Hopefully you now feel that you have a strong thesis upon which to base your argument. For homework tonight - finish the graphic organizer for your second literary analysis. I will give you time in class tomorrow to write the rough draft.

Block D: We will be having a noun quiz in class tomorrow - make sure you complete your review sheets! If you didn't finish your double-spaced rough draft - it is due tomorrow for peer editing.
