Block A:  Make sure you complete the journal response #3 for Monday.

Block C:  Continue on with the work on connotation - please complete the last love poem on the sheet.

Block D:  We read "Who said we all have to talk alike" in class today.  Answer the 7 questions about how character is revealed, and complete the story map for Monday.

Thinking on a Thursday:

Block D:  For homework tonight complete the task for the short story "The Father":  Imagine that the father in the story has asked you for advice on how to have a better relationship with his son, Johnny.  Write a letter to the father explaining what he should do.

Block C:  Please complete the connotations work for the first 2 poems on the Love Poems handout for tomorrow.

Block A:  You need to have 4 sticky notes on symbols and symbolism for tomorrow.  Please read up to the end of chapter 18 for our Lit Circle meeting tomorrow.

Wednesday Work:

Block A:  Your response journal #2 is due tomorrow - you should also be thinking about your Life Lessons project.

Block C:  Poetry Journal #2 is due tomorrow - haiku time!

Block D:  We read the short story "The Father" in class today - you will need to complete setting, character and central conflict for tomorrow's class.

Block A:  Please read and complete 2 visuals per chapter up to the end of chapter 14.  You also have ongoing activities:  The word wall, your response journal which is due on Thursday, and the Life Lessons Book, which is due on Friday Nov. 12.

Masterpiece Monday

Block A:  You have the ongoing word wall activity - we are now up to 2 sections.  Your first response journal is due tomorrow.

Block C:  No homework!

Block D:  No homework!

Thursday Tasks:

Block D:  The good copy / Final draft of your "passions" project is due on Monday - please make sure to double-space your paragraph!

Block C:  U2 assignment will be reviewed on Monday - in addition you have your first poetry journal assignment on War and the Internet.  Please make sure that you are reviewing your poetic devices as there is a test on Monday!

Block A:  Please keep up with your reading and sticky notes - the topic for your notes is theme.  You were assigned your first reading response journal which is due on Tuesday.

Work for Wednesday

Block A:  Start reading your next section of To Kill a Mockingbird you will need to have read up to the end of Chapter 10 by Monday's class.

Block C:  The good copy of your essay is due tomorrow!!!

Block D:  Keep working on your "Passions" project - as it is all due on Monday!

Tuesday Tasks:

Block D:  Homework tonight is the rough-draft of your Passions Paragraph - please make sure you double-space!!

Block C:  Please print off and bring song lyrics to class tomorrow - they should be intelligent and poetic - make sure they are appropriate for class!!

Block A:  It is our first lit. circle meeting tomorrow - so make sure you are prepared with your sticky notes filled out and your reading done - you need to be finished chapter 5.

Methodic Monday

Block A:  Please bring sticky notes to class tomorrow!

Block C:  Continue working on the draft of your essay - you will not have any more class time to do this - so if you would like some feedback please arrange it with me. Your good copy is due Thursday Oct. 21.

Block D:  Please bring in any materials that you might need for your passionate place assignment - we will continue working on the outline of your paragraphs.

Block A:  We've started our novel study unit - no homework tonight!

Wishful Wednesday

Block A:  The good copy of your Individualism Essay is due tomorrow - don't forget to double-space please!!!  Also the visual is to handed in at the same time.  Please complete the self-evaluation portion of the assignment before handing it in.

Block C:  Keep working on those verbal visual essays - they are due tomorrow!  The outline for your  literary essay based on your novel is due on Friday.

Block D:  Presentations are over!  Hand in your self and peer evaluation form.  Please bring your lit. circle novel to class tomorrow without all the sticky notes.  Also we will start the class with silent reading to please bring your novel.

Tuesday that feels like Monday!

Block D:  Presentations continue tomorrow!!!

Block C:  Continue working on your Verbal/Visual Essay and the outline of your written essay on your novel.  The outline is due on Friday the 15th - the rough draft is due on Monday the 18th - and the good copy is due on Thursday the 21st.

Block A:  Tonight:  take the feedback given to you by your peer editor and apply it to your essay - bring another draft tomorrow for another round of editing.  Bring all collage materials to class - as it will be your last opportunity to get work done in class.  The good copy of your essay along with the visual is due on Thursday Oct. 14th.

Fine Friday!

Block A:  Be sure to have your draft finished of your "Individualism" project for Tuesday as it is peer editing day!  Also please bring any materials you need for the visual component of the project.

Block C:  Continue to work on your Verbal / Visual Essay - the official due date is next Thursday - however come prepared on Tuesday to start your written essay on your book.

Block D:  "Experience" Presentations start on Tuesday - come early if you need to prepare the classroom ahead of time!!

Thunderous Thursday

Block D:  Everyone should have a silent reading book as of next class (tomorrow) for the start of class.  You will have one more block tomorrow to work on your "Experience" presentation - because it is show time on Tuesday!

Block C:  Continue to work on your verbal visual essays - bring any materials you might need for your visual to class tomorrow!

Block A:  Bring materials for your "Individualism" assignment - we will continue to work on the outlines in class tomorrow.

Working Wednesday!

Block A: Work continues on your Individualism Assignments.  Homework tonight is to complete your thesis statements for tomorrow so I can check it!

Block C: We will continue to work on your verbal/visual essay in class tomorrow - please bring any supplies you need for that.  Your LAST set of 2-column notes are due tomorrow!

Block D:  "Experience" Presentations start on Tuesday - keep working hard groups!

Task worthy Tuesday!

Block D:  We started our group novel "Experience" presentations today! We will be working on these for the remainder of the week - so use your time well!  Bring any materials you need to class. We will also be starting silent reading so bring in a novel of your choice for tomorrow's class.

Block C:  It was our last novel meeting today!  Your novel should be complete at this point.  You will be starting your verbal visual essay tomorrow - so bring your creativity to class!

Block A:  We started your Individualism assignment today - there was no homework!
